In the summer of 2024, the two badminton girls Milea and Mithi from Gadbjerg signed up for summer training in Glif Badminton under coach Flemming Alexandersen’s wings. What was a cozy sport for the two girls at that time has now become a serious and targeted affair with training up to 4 times a week – and where both girls have moved so much that they have been selected for Badminton Midtjylland’s circuit training.

The cool youngsters: Sometimes it is the gaming of the coincidence that makes talented athletes just suddenly discovered and come in the right contexts in relation to the development of their talent. This was also the case with the two sisters, 9-year-old Milea and 14-year-old Mithi Ranaivo Bjerremand from Gadbjerg.
When they were 8 and 13 years old respectively, they decided to go for summer training in badminton under the auspices of Glif Badminton in Elkjærhallen in Grønbjerg with badminton trainer Flemming Alexandersen as rope holder. And here it turned out pretty quickly that the two Gadbjerg girls were a few rough badminton diamonds.
– We had actually spotted both of them at Give the Egns Championships in Badminton in the spring and could see that there was something to build on, and we were only confirmed in that view when Milea and Mithi joined the summer training here in Glif. They moved quickly and got better and better for each workout. They went to the case with fire and seriousness, and the development they have undergone in that year is close to sensational, says Flemming Alexandersen, who can also state that the girls for the circuit training are under competent supervision of elite coaches such as Michael Kjeldsen and Rasmus Bonde.
– Right now badminton is filling it all
The newspaper has spoken to the two girls and their father, Rune, and that the family now has two such talented badminton players with such great development potential, is also something that, in addition to arousing great pride in the family, also demands the family’s everyday life, where there is now a whole lot of training, a lot of driving to various training sessions and for competitions and tournaments.
– The girls train in Gadbjerg, Grønbjerg and Kolding, and now that they have both joined under Badminton Midtjylland’s circuit training, they have to go to training sessions in Silkeborg, Grindsted and Hammel. In addition, there is also a circuit match on 31.10 in a place we have not been informed yet. In addition, there are a lot of other events and tournaments that the girls need to go to. So there is plenty to look at as a badminton family, and here it is important that we are also aware of creating some breathing holes for the girls so that they do not run tired of it, Rune notes.
9-year-old Milea is playing today in the U11A series, which is the highest level for this age group. She is No. 6 on the ranking at national level, really nice to move so much in just one year. 14-year-old Mithi plays in the U15 A series, where she has just picked up a nice bronze medal in a bone-hard row with many really talented players.
Signe significantly contributing to Mithi’s great development
In Glif Badminton, Mithi has started training with 18-year-old Signe Pahus Pedersen, who is himself a viable and targeted badminton player. The two girls have found each other in good cooperation, and according to both Rune and Flemming, Mithi has really moved a lot under Signe’s trainer.
And Signe also thinks it is great to help use his own strong abilities as a badminton player to develop a young local talent. She has recently been with Mithi out for a tournament as a head coach, and it was a role she went into with life and soul! That Signe has a large stock in Mithi’s great development, there is no doubt.

From Hyggebadminton to Serious Business
Milea is under Flemming Alexandersen’s competent wings, and she also receives coaching from Steen Thomsen, a badminton trainer in Kolding BK. Father Rune is also on the coach team, and it is clear that a car must also be added when driving for training in Grønbjerg, Kolding and Gadbjerg.
– It’s something of a journey the two have been on. A year and a half ago, it was a cozy badminton with the girlfriends where they went and beat some balls for fun. Now they train at least 4 times a week, and now in an elite setup with talented coaches and talented co -workers at the circuit training – and both girls find very exciting and motivating, Rune says.
Dreams both of becoming a professional
When asked about their goals and dreams with badminton, both girls are ready with this cool announcement:
– It’s the dream to become a professional. It could just be so cool. We have started winning a lot of matches, and we have also won gold, silver and bronze medals at some A-events, it sounds with wide smiles from the two glorious girls.
According to Rune, Milea and Mithi have moved so much in 1 ½ years is due to several factors.
– They both have a special talent for badminton, no doubt about it. In addition, they are both very learning, and then they like to be physically active. They have both played football and gone to gymnastics, and then it is also incredibly important that they both come with a really good willpower. They have a big drive, they are good at motivating themselves and they are constantly setting new goals.
– In addition, at the same time as the increased amount of training at the high level, they have also been good at finding with the other players, so they are socially well together, which is also important when you, as a 9- and 14-year-olds, spend so much time on his sport, Rune notes.
