Badminton Club: Season Relaunch & New Season Excitement

The young badminton club is launching its new season. Created two years ago by Mickael, he offers his members to train three times a week in the sports hall.

I’m happy because this year we see a lot of children coming to meet us, explains Mickaël before continuing, Last year, we had about eighty members. This year, we hope to have as much. People come from everywhere, twenty kilometers around Saint-Ambroix. “

Word-of-mouth success

Last year was their first year and the club did not do too much communication, but word of mouth worked well.

The idea is not to have 200 licensees, we want to remain a club where everyone can play without having to wait for their turn as in certain other associations. When you are too numerous and there is not enough space, it is not pleasant. Here, we have nine playgrounds and the idea is that it must remain accessible to everyone. Last year, we had around sixty adults of all ages for around twenty children, only between five to ten came to play regularly. This year, we see that we are starting to be known because for this recovery, we have many more young people. I am very happy but the problem is that we are not federated, we are an association which only offers leisure. If we had a request, it would be great that there is a young section that we can take early training so that they learn quickly and compete. But there, we would need people to supervise them “

A beautiful amplitude of play

The slots are wide to allow everyone to be able to come. On the first year, on Thursday, there was the possibility of staying until 11 p.m. and some remained until the end.

As the club shares the room with the handball association, it manages with them for the schedules, especially on Saturday when they sometimes have matches. “As we had the opportunity to open earlier this year, we thought it would be good to offer games from 6 pm and stop a little earlier”concludes Mickaël.
