World Archery Championships 2025 – First medal for the French delegation, silver in pulleys by men’s teams.
The French team of Arc in Poulies won the title during the very first edition of the World Championships in 1995 in Jakarta. But since then, it has never been back on the podium. Nicolas Girard, Jean-Philippe Boulouch et François Dubois hoped to end this curse during the 2025 edition, in South Korea.

The Blues had taken fifth place in qualifications, but very close to the medalists and favorites. Better still, they won a direct ticket for the 8th finals, where they went out without trembling Hungary (233-226), then the Chinese taipei (236-229) to reach the last square, a frankly expected result. But while they expected to face the South Korean favorites, winners of the qualifications, they met Slovenia in the place, who had therefore achieved the exploit in the previous round. A harsh, tight duel that the Blues have won by sending their last five arrows to the center, to win 232-231 And ensure the medal.
Faced with them, the Indians, second of the qualifications, impeccable in the final table, and logical favorites. A final that was going to switch to the last volley of arrows, while the French, who left strong, were stretch as you go, to finally crack and bow 235-233. Too bad, but this first medal since 1995 is therefore excellent news, in addition to opening the counter of the French delegation in South Korea. And there are still many events for the Blues, who had only taken only a silver medal (for the French team women of classic arc) during the last edition in 2023…
