Norman Bassette made this summer on a rental basis the switch of the English second-class Coventry City, where Chelsea icon Frank Lampard no longer counted on him, to the French second-class Stade Reims. But for the same money, the former striker of KV Mechelen, among others, had again played football in our country. In addition to Stade Reims, the Dutch Utrecht and some Belgian clubs also showed interest. Anderlecht, too, said in an interview. “There have been some clubs. Certainly in the last days of the Mercato,” said Bassette. “Schalke 04, KV Mechelen and Anderlecht, among others, gained information. But at that time I had already given my word to Reims and there was no hair on my head that thought of breaking that word. The coach’s discourse really convinced me to draw there.”
That Anderlecht showed interest in Bassette does not have to be completely surprised. Coach Besnik Hasi worked successfully with the striker in his period at KV Mechelen.

Our transfer report. “At Anderlecht, Kasper Dolberg has not been replaced and Bertaccini is not a player to only carry the attack”
Anderlecht, despite the sale of Dolberg and the injury at Bertaccini, did not ultimately reach a new attacker. Among other things, NEC’s Japanese Kento Shiogai (20) was an option, Neal Maupay (30) was offered and even ex-club Brugge striker Emannuel Dennis was (27) suggested. For none of them, however, Anderlecht tacked. Danyli Sikan, a 24-year-old Ukrainian from Trabzonspor, also came into sight on the final day, but the Turkish club was difficult for the prize.
And so Anderlecht have to do it in the coming weeks with Luis Vazquez as the first striker. Mihajlo Cvetkovic is Doublure at the time, although the Serbian only played with the RSCA Futures for the time being.
