The aim of the exercise in Ampurgnano was testing the skills of the staff who operate in the emergency system to work in multidisciplinary and multi -professional teams in complex and unexpected scenarios that can be managed adequately only if there is a real integration between all the operational components involved.
The methodology chosen was that of the realistic simulation which, in line with national regulations and international standards, is an essential element of training and training activities because it guarantees the possibility of testing the real consolidation of shared procedures. The simulated scenarios, in fact, allow participants to experience likely situations and make real -time decisions in a safe and controlled environment. In addition, they guarantee effective internalization of the operating procedures and promote the reproduction of the behaviors learned in the management of real emergencies.
The exercise reproduced a major accident scenario inside the Ampugnano airport characterized by a clash between two minibus (shuttles/shuttle) with a high number of injuries (between 50 and 70). The rescue vehicles were kept remotely by the scenario to reproduce the real timing for the arrival and assembly of the structures necessary to manage the emergency. It was also possible to achieve the activation of Pegaso 2 for taking charge of one of the most serious cases that needed helmet. On the scene there were evaluators who had the task of analyzing the event and organizing the afternoon debriefing for educational purposes.
