After Bogdan Bogdanovic (Los Angeles Clippers) from the current basketball European Championship, it has now caught the next NBA star. The French national team announced the failure of a top performer.
The French association said that in the further course of the tournament, Alexandre Sarr from the Washington Wizards could no longer be built. In a statement, it was said on Tuesday evening: “The medical staff of the French national team have now been able to carry out various tests that resulted in an injury whose healing duration is not compatible with the participation of the player in the rest of the competition.”
Already in the previous game of France against Israel, Sarr could not participate due to a calf injury. However, the French did not provide more detailed information about the seriousness of the injuries.
After the cancellation of Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs) and Rudy Gobert (Minnesota Timberwolves), Sarr’s failure is gaping an even larger gap in the front court of the Head Coach Frederic Fauthoux.
In the first two games of the European Championship, Sarr stood an average of 19.5 minutes on the field and scored 9.5 points during this time, won 4.5 rebounds and blocked a throw per game.
