The reputation of the supporters of the Amsterdam club is a reason for the local authorities to keep them out. Two years ago the two clubs also brought each other, then in the Europa League, and even then Ajax players were not welcome.
Ajax writes in a statement that he has objected to the advice to keep the supporters, but expects that the negative advice will remain. In France, the Ministry of the Interior will consider the issue and make a final decision. According to Ajax, that will be in line with the wishes of the local authorities.
That is why the supporters are not recommended to book a trip to the French port city. The Ajax supporters’ association writes deeply disappointed that no fans are allowed to travel again. They emphasize to know that the club has ‘done everything possible to make this possible’.
