Ajax and FC Volendam will join forces in the field of talent development. They also want to support each other in creating career opportunities for players from both clubs, as can be read on Ajax.nl
With this collaboration, both clubs attempt to share their expertise, in particular in the field of football methodology and around the development of talents. In addition, joint steps are also being taken in the field of scouting. In this way they want to make maximum use of the development of their players.
Volendam is not the first club to enter the network of Ajax’s cooperation partners. The Amsterdammers already have a partnership with Gamba Osaka, CF Pachuca and Como 1907.
Technical director of Ajax, Alex Kroes, is very pleased with the collaboration with The eel farmers. “By welcoming FC Volendam in our club network, we strengthen our core activity: developing players and creating the right growth paths, whereby we ensure that they are consistently challenged and supported to reach their full potential.”
Patrick Busby, technical director of Volendam, is also enthusiastic: “The collaboration with Ajax gives us extra expertise and opportunities in the field of scouting and renting players.”
For many Ajax supporters, this announcement may have a bitter aftertaste after last weekend. Ajax lost costly points in the Kras Stadium this weekend. The team of coach John Heitinga got no further than a disappointing draw against the PhD student: 1-1.
