5-Parish Park: Family Fun & Meeting Point

The “Sisslerfeld-Day” comes up with a large program

With the 5-parish park and the family meeting point, two projects will be inaugurated on September 13, which were awarded the “Our Sisslerfeld” project competition in 2023. The viewing platform will also be opened on this day.

At 2 p.m. September 13th, the 3rd “Our Sisslerfeld day”. A circular hiking trail for young and old, which is also suitable for strollers and wheelchairs, invites you to walk through the Sisslerfeld until 4 p.m. On the way, projects are presented by the “Association of our Sisslerfeld” Association, a quiz has to be solved and the striking viewing platform can be climbed for the first time. From 3 p.m. the festival starts on the Grossmatt area in Sisseln. After the opening act at 4:30 p.m. there is an entertaining program for the whole family. Eating and drinking is also taken care of.

The 5-parish park and family meeting projects complement each other perfectly. Cooperation was therefore obvious for project managers Alessio Borriciello and Marcel Notter. A suitable place for both projects could also be found. At the end of the Eichenallee, which leads from the DSM site to the Rhine, the existing barbecue area is upgraded and a new, identity-creating meeting place is designed. The core of the 5-parish park is the replacement of the previous seating with high-quality, modern marble carriers. The logo of one of the Sisslerfeld communities is engraved in each bank, which gives the park a recognition value. A special aspect of this project is its cross -border character. The new benches are manufactured by carpenters from the Bad Säckingen (DE) trade school. This cooperation underlines the close connection in the region. The family meeting point offers a natural area around the barbecue area and the new benches and a platform. This platform will be used for changing exhibitions with a strong regional and interactive reference. In addition, a weatherproof play box will be available from which families in particular should benefit. The play box has four lockers numbered for personnel -free rental of balls, badminton, boccia etc. via app.

The opening of the two projects will be celebrated on September 13 with the inauguration of a wooden table, on which both the projects are identified and the sponsors are thanked. The new landmark of Sisslerfeld – the accessible viewing platform – will also be opened on this day. The 3rd Sisslerfeld day was organized in close cooperation with the Sisseln cultural commission and is supported by other clubs and helpers from the four Sisslerfeld communities. (mgt)
