The China Tennis Tour was founded in 2020. It is a national-level tennis boutique event with independent intellectual property rights jointly created by the Tennis Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sports, the China Tennis Association, and the Sports Youth Program Center of the China Radio and Television Station.
The 2025 China Tennis Tour CTA200 Jinan Station has set up five events: men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles. On the two match days of the 6th and 7th, nearly 300 tennis enthusiasts from all over the country signed up to participate. At the same time, the event also has special small tennis events. According to the schedule, the first two rounds of men’s, women’s singles and men’s doubles will be started after the opening ceremony on the 6th, as well as the first round of women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Jinan has held the China Open Tour. Xiu Zhentao, chairman of the Shandong Small Ball Games Federation and president of the Shandong Tennis Association, admitted that the China Open Tour is of great significance to Jinan and Shandong tennis. Every year, from ordinary fans to tennis practitioners are looking forward to it. The event has led a group of outstanding tennis youth enthusiasts to participate in tennis, laying a solid foundation for the selection and cultivation of high-level tennis talents in Shandong.
In his opinion, China Open Tour, as a competition platform for mass tennis enthusiasts and professional players to participate in, is highly in line with the concept of the new pattern of high-quality development of China’s tennis industry. Last month, the Tennis Sports Management Center triggered the “Measures for High-Quality Development and Reform of Tennis”, which clearly pointed out that it would build a new pattern of high-quality development of China’s tennis industry that “serve the public, bring glory to the country, help the economy, and empower the society”. Among them, measures such as socializing the construction of the mass tennis ecology, systematically promoting the “big youth training” system and branding to create a tennis system, and market-oriented driving the upgrading of the tennis industry are refreshing.
In the five years since its establishment, the China Tennis Tour has held more than 70 events, attracting nearly 20,000 players to participate, and the event operation and competition atmosphere have won many praises in the circle. The number of registrations for the 2025 China Tennis Tour CTA200 Jinan Station hit a new high, and nearly 300 registrations are a good example.
This is the fourth time he has participated in the CTA200 Jinan Station event of the China Open Tour CTA200. Wang Hong, as a tennis teacher at Shandong Sports University, sighed repeatedly that there are too many people who have signed up, and many of them have come from other places to participate. This competition is becoming more and more attractive.
“First of all, from a popular perspective, through the China Open Tour, more people like and fall in love with tennis, and more people participate in the competition; secondly, through the China Open Tour, promoting event consumption and event economy has brought us huge economic and social benefits.” Xiu Zhentao said that this is consistent with the design and planning of reform measures in the integration of sports and education, event economy, sports consumption, diversified talent training, and echelon construction.
The event is hosted by the Tennis Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, the Sports Youth Program Center of the China National Radio and Television Station, the China Tennis Association, the Shandong Small Ball Sports Federation, the Shandong Tennis Association, and the Jinan Sports Bureau, and hosted by the Jinan Mass Sports Development Center, and operated by Beijing Zhongwangshang Sports Management Co., Ltd., International Media Port (Shanghai) Cultural Development Co., Ltd., and Shandong Yi Orange Cultural Tourism Sports Industry Co., Ltd.
