NUNSPEET – Sporting Recreation Center De Wiltsangh buzzed with youthful energy this past Monday, August 25th, as Nunspeet Beweegt hosted its annual Summer Edition Beweegfestijn. Think of it as a youth sports combine, but with more smiles adn less pressure. From 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM, kids from various age groups participated in a range of sporting activities, followed by a refreshing dip in the pool. It’s like the little league World series, but everyone gets a participation trophy – and a chance to cool off!

The sports hall was packed with approximately 55-60 young athletes, eager to test their skills. The venue was transformed into a multi-sport arena, featuring ten different activity stations. Each child received a “stamp card,” similar to a punch card at your local smoothie shop, to track their progress as thay completed each challenge.Activities included a castle bouncer (think inflatable obstacle course), a tumbling track (gymnastics skills on display!), penalty shooting (future soccer stars in the making!), and a selection of classic Dutch games (a taste of international competition!).

A Sport for Every Kid

Beyond the conventional games, the event also incorporated modern and summer-themed challenges. Participants enjoyed an interactive wall (a digital playground!), a “beach” volleyball game (indoor sand not included), and agility tests like Cup Games and Badminton. The assignments were tailored to different age groups, ensuring that every child, from the youngest rookies to the seasoned veterans, coudl participate and be challenged at their own level. It’s like a coach designing drills for both the starters and the benchwarmers – everyone gets a chance to shine.

A cool Finish

Following the action-packed program in the sports hall, the children had the opportunity to cool off in the swimming pool. For many, this was the perfect ending to a fun-filled and sporty morning. It’s like Gatorade after a tough practise – a refreshing reward for a job well done.
