BRATISLAVA – Coach Peter Barnišin will no longer lead the Slovak national team in small football. Ended up on mutual agreement.

His successor will be decided by the Executive Committee of the Slovak Union of Small Football in the near future.

In January 2024, Barnišin was replaced by the coach of the national team Branislav Škorca.

The representation under his leadership in 2024 dropped out at the European Championships in the eight -finals and did not advance from the group at this year’s World Cup.

However, it dominated the international EMF Nations Games tournament in 2024 in Galanta in 2025 in Košice. In the competition matches on the bench of the national team, Barnišin had a balance of 12 victories and 3 losses. At the same time, Peter Ganczner and Vladimír Voroňák end the position of assistants.

“I would like to thank the Slovak Association of Little Football for the opportunity to lead the national team very much. It was a great honor for me. I have been from all the people I worked with, felt maximum support and effort to move small football forward.

From my work I take a lot of experience to my next career. There was a great atmosphere in the national team during the whole work. With the implementation team and players we created a great game. I am very sorry that this year’s World Cup did not work out and we did not bring fans for the support we felt from them.

However, small football, like other sports, can be devious. Despite the fact that both finalists and I managed to win a month before the event, unfortunately we did not succeed at the championship itself. I wish little football the best in the future and keep my fingers crossed for my follower. Thank you to all fans, players and realization teams, ” said Barnišin for the SZMF website.

“I would like to thank Petr Barnišin and his entire realization team for their work during the past two national cycles. As the whole team did hard and honest work. But it is a great pity for all parties that promising preparations in both cycles did not show the result in the top events.

Three months ago, we defeated Azerbaijan, who became the world champion and today we are informing about changes in the coaching post. But this is sport. I wish Petr Barnišin a lot of success in the next coaching career.

The representation will go through a systemic variation in the near future and we will be prepared for the European Championship, ” President of SZMF added Peter Králik.
