The trial operation has been successful since the beginning of August 2025. In the first few weeks, numerous athletes completed their first training sessions. The new Sport Arena Vienna offers three independently playable halls that enable an ideal mix of training and event sites. In addition to sports such as gymnastics and athletics, handball, volleyball, football, basketball, badminton and floorball are also played at club level. There are also offers for various strength and martial arts as well as for yoga, Zumba or cheerleading as well as for children’s gymnastics and health sports. A total of around 20 different sports can be trained and practiced in the Sport Arena Vienna. In addition, thanks to its flexible infrastructure and modern equipment, the Sport Arena Vienna is also designed as an event location for competitions, tournaments and major sporting events – and thus offers space for top sporting performance as well as for audience -effective events.

The new Sport Arena Vienna is operated on behalf of the City of Vienna by Vienna Holding Sport GmbH. Sport Wien (MA 51) acted as the client of Sport Arena Vienna. WIP Wiener Infrastructure Projekt GmbH is responsible for project management, a company of the Vienna Holding subsidiary Vienna Location Development (WSE).
