The result guaranteed the Campineira team with a victory in its record at this stage, confirming the campaign in the competition.

In the final minutes, Londrina had a chance to draw with a penalty, but missed the opportunity, keeping the score in favor of Ponte Preta. The failure turned out to be decisive for the outcome of the confrontation.

Ponte Preta ended in the vice-leadership, therefore, with the second best campaign of the classification phase. It added 36 points, the same score as the Nautical, third place. But Macaca had more wins – 11 to 10 – than the Pernambuco red. Also, it was just one point behind leader Caxias.
