Coach José Mourinho ended up on the footballers’ footballers. The famous Portuguese did not have the failure in the qualification of the Champions League and after Wednesday’s eliminating Benfica Lisbon, the club management dismissed him. The Turkish unit said it on the Social Network X.
“We ended cooperation with José Mourinh, who was a coach of the A-team since the 2024/2025 season. Thank you for his work and wish him much success in his future career,” he says in a short statement.
The 62 -year -old coach came to the Istanbul Grand Club before the last season, in which he could not end with the team waiting for the league title. Fenerbahce last celebrated in 2014, this time on the city rival Galatasaray lost 11 points.
Mourinho is one of the most successful coaches of football history. He dominated the Champions League with Inter Milan and Porto, with which he also succeeded in the former UEFA Cup.
