Lucas Vazquez has joined Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen following his exit from Real Madrid.
Primarily a right-sided player who can play in midfield and defence, Vazquez travelled to Germany on Tuesday ahead of completing the move.
The 34-year-old ended his career-long association with Madrid earlier this summer, following the team’s exit from the Club World Cup at the semi-final stage.

Vazquez spent a total of 18 years at the Spanish capital club, with his only experience away from Madrid being a 2014-15 loan spell at Espanyol.
Known for his versatility, Vazquez was primarily a wide-right midfielder while also often being deployed as a right-back at Madrid when first-choice Dani Carvajal was unavailable, before Trent Alexander-Arnold joined this summer.
Upon leaving the club, Vazquez said that he has “fulfilled the dream of his life” by his time in Madrid.
He won 20 trophies, including five Champions League titles and four La Liga crowns, across his time at Madrid, where he made over 400 first-team appearances.
All nine of Vazquez’s appearances for Spain came within 2016 and 2018, representing his nation at the European Championship and World Cup.
