Lithuanian Basketball: Star on EC Records & Teamwork

Lithuanians beat Montenegro on Friday in Group B with 94:67 (26:15, 21:13, 19:17, 28:22), reaching a new European Championship record.

The winners in this match made 35 assists, a new European Championship record (this statistics have been collected since 1995).

So far, the record has been 33 assists. It has been owned by former Yugoslavia since 2001, reaching a record in the European Championship this year against Estonia.

Before that, on Wednesday, Lithuania beat Britain’s national team with 94:70 (23:15, 18:18, 24:17, 29:20), reaching a new record in rebounds.

In the first game of EuroBasket 2025, Lithuanian basketball players won 57 rebounds, a new European Championship record (since 1995).

So far, the record was held by Russian basketball players, who won 54 rebounds in the European Championship match against Finland in 1995.
