Tennis player Jakub Menšík will represent the team of Europe at this year’s Laver Cup.
The nineteen -year -old native of Prostějov and the sixteenth player of the world is in the final six -member nomination of Captain Yannick Noaha.

The eighth year of the team competition will take place from 19 to 21 September in San Francisco.
The winner of this year’s tournament in Miami Menšík will play Laver Cup as the second Czech after the current Davis Cup captain Tomáš Berdych, who was part of the European selection in the opening year 2017.

“I’ve already heard a lot about the Laver Cup. It’s a very intense and special event. It is a dream to represent Europe with players like Carlos and Sasha.
The selection of the world should be defended mainly by the Americans Taylor Fritz (4th), Ben Shelton (6th), Tommy Paul (14th) and Frances Tiafoe (17th).
The line -up of Captain Andre Agassi also includes Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo (19th) and Brazilian Joao Fonseca (44th).
Last year’s Laver Cup won the European team in Berlin, which won 13:11. In the sum of all years, it leads 5: 2 for matches.
“Winning the Laver Cup is always a challenge and this year it will not be different. Our team is a talented, experienced and hungry to defend the Laver Cup against a very strong selection of the world. We are ready,” said Noah, replacing Björn Borg.
