Alba Berlin has strengthened for the coming season in the Basketball Bundesliga with the Lithuanian international Martyna’s Echodas.
The center, not at the current European Championship because of a knee injury, comes from the Turkish first division club Manisa Basket and has signed a one -year contract until 2026. The 28-year-old is currently still in advanced training.
“A classic win-win situation”
“Martynas is in a special situation: Last season he played at an absolute top level before an injury stopped in December,” said Alba sports director Himar Ojeda: “The fact that he will give his comeback with us is a classic win-win situation: Martynas can show that he is still a top player-and we strengthen ourselves with a mobile center that acts strongly, opposite Defending clever reads and can score under the basket in a variety of ways. “
Echodas went through Zalgiris’s youth program in his hometown of Kaunas. After stations in Siauliai and Vilnius, the “Big Man” left his home country and went to Reyer Venice/Italy.
After his return to Vilnius, Echodas moved to Manisa Basket in 2024.
