A new book is set to launch, chronicling a half-century of sports history in Jesi, Italy, a city renowned for its dedication to athletic achievement. The book, a labor of love, captures the essence of passion, commitment, and the pursuit of excellence in both individual and team sports. It’s more than just a collection of scores and highlights; it’s a tribute to the sports associations and individuals who have shaped the city’s sporting identity.

The book delves into the stories of teams that have competed in Italy’s highest national serie A championship, highlighting the contributions of managers, players, coaches, sports doctors, masseurs, physiotherapists, and even technical commissioners. Jesi holds a unique distinction: it’s reportedly the only city in the world to simultaneously boast two technical commissioners at the helm of their respective national teams.The book also celebrates Olympic gold medalists, world champions, European titleholders, and national champions who hail from Jesi.

From the Cardinaletti Foundation to Uisp and CSI, the book covers a wide spectrum of sporting organizations and initiatives. It also acknowledges the crucial role of AIA referees from Jesi, Balette, Panathlon, Consulta dello Sport, the Cesarini Prize, and Sport Camp. The book spans a diverse range of sports, including tennis, beach tennis, bocce, cycling, volleyball, soccer (both men’s and women’s), basketball, 5-a-side football, fencing, rugby, judo, taekwondo, karate, motorsports, marathon running, swimming, water polo, and boxing. The narrative also includes the stories of Pierino Gagliardini and Nunzia Toti, two pivotal figures who oversaw the Sports Office of the Municipality of Jesi.
