Zeiss & Thomas Chirault: Precision Shooting Support | Arc Shooter

Supported and equipped by Zeiss since 2020, Thomas Chirault, recent Olympic medalist member of the French Archery team, has climbed the ladder of his discipline and is now part of the world’s top 5.

Affected by myopia and astigmatism, Thomas Chirault sought personalized visual solutions for a sport where the average visual acuity of athletes is particularly high (15/10).

Zeiss responded to this need by advising it and equipping it via the Zeiss Visufit 1000, an instrument which allows, among other things, precise 3D digital centering.

For his indoor and outdoors training and competitions, Thomas Chirault uses specific ZEiss equipment:

  • Individualized white Zeiss glasses with UVProtect technology: as protective as UV400 sunscrees and as transparent and clear as conventional glasses.
  • POLARISING ZEISS SOLAR GLOUSS: To ward off all weather and bright conditions, they eliminate the light elements oscillating horizontally, responsible for most of the dazzling and ensure an optimal vision of contrasts (ideal for the practice of archery).

The support of young talents in their quest for performance and precision is part of Zeiss’s strategy. This approach is also illustrated by the partnership with Thimoté Polet, Skipper of the Class40 Zeiss, and the sponsorship of the dissemination of the Six Nations Tournament.

Thomas Chirault has signed a new French record at 698 points, which also equalizes the European record (the maximum being 720 points and the world record at 702 pts).
