A tribute to Michael Jordan and his iconic deeds with a show that saw 800 drones fly in the Trieste sky.
Trieste celebrated Michael Jordan And its legendary crushed from 1985 with a show that has united technology, sports memory and collective passion. At 23:00 on 23 June 2025, a given choice not surprisingly to recall the famous Jordan shirt number, 800 drones illuminated the sky above Piazza Unità d’Italia and the bold pier, transforming the city into an open -air stage for an unprecedented tribute.
The show, conceived by Alumee and creatively directed by Defmo Studio, retraced the key moments of the story between Trieste and the myth of “His Arness”. The drones have in fact drawn the sequence of symbolic images in the dark: the logo of the Trieste basketball, the silhouette of the Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard” transported by a helicopter, the famous dunk that broke the scoreboard and, finally, the iconic jumpman logo, a global symbol of sporting excellence.
The evening had a strong emotional and historical value. Forty years ago, just in Trieste, Jordan – then a young NBA promise – shattered the scoreboard with a dash during a friendly between Stefanel Trieste and Juve Caserta, an episode that would become legend (also told on ATG) and would have inspired the color “Shattered Backboard” of the Air Jordan 1, back on stage for the occasion.
The event was also an opportunity to reveal one New celebratory shirt In limited edition, created in collaboration between Basketball Trieste and Jordan Brand, and to announce an international tour that will bring the team and the brand to some of the world basketball capitals such as Paris, London, Las Vegas and New York.

The celebration, which has remained secret until the last and announced only a few hours earlier with a mysterious “Stay Tuned” on the social media of the Trieste basketball, has excited a crowd of fans and curious, sealing the indissoluble bond between Trieste, the basketball and the legend of Michael Jordan.
