About 160 families become familiar with baseball with Nakahata Kiyoshi and others.
The World Youth Baseball Promotion Foundation and the Ball City Toyama Project Executive Committee held a “parent-child baseball experience class” at the Himi Sports Park Baseball Stadium (Oura Shinmachi, Himi City) on June 21st and at the Isaac Sports Dome (Yagiyama, Toyama City) on the 22nd, with approximately 160 children from both middle and second grade elementary school students from within and outside the prefecture taking part in the event. Co-sponsored by Himi City and sponsored by Imizu City and Nanao City.
In addition to the first coach of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars and council member of the foundation, Yoshida Eri, Furuya Ena, Matsumoto Ayano, and Yamamori Shiori, who were dispatched by the All Japan Women’s Baseball Federation, members of the Toyama University Women’s Baseball Club supported the coaching.

At the event, they played catches using soft balls, strokes outs, tee batting, and other challenges such as wearing protectors used by catchers. Nakahata and other instructors carefully explained and taught the basic movements of throwing and hitting. You can also experience Baseball 5, where you hit the ball with your hands. I enjoyed learning baseball rules in a game format, such as “If you hit, you move to first base, and if you reach home plate, you get one point.”

At the Himi venue on the 21st, as part of the recovery support for the Noto Peninsula earthquake, a bus tour of Himi City was also being held for children from Nanao City, including participation in this classroom. In addition to experiences at the baseball field, we also experienced activities at the Himi City Seaside Botanical Garden, sweating, and strolled around the Secret Banya District.
On the 22nd, Aioi Nissei Dowa Insurance, which has concluded a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Toyama City on regional revitalization, exhibited a “brain training” booth at the venue, with many participants experiencing it.

The Ball City Toyama Project Executive Committee will continue to hold various events in the future, in order to promote the Mynavi All-Star Game 2026, to be held at Toyama Civic Stadium in July next year, to create momentum for baseball, and expand the base. For fun!
