Tour de France 2025: Stage 5 Course & Profile – Caen

The Tour de France returns to Caen for the first time in almost twenty years, for a counter -lathe organized over 33 km around the Norman city. On a perfectly flat route, the runners will leave in turn from the Leroy tower before crossing the surrounding municipalities of Saint-Contest, Cambes-en-Plaine, Colombo-Aguerny, Le Fresne-Camilly, Thaon, Cairon, Rosel and Saint-Germain-La-Blanche-Herbe.

The return to Caen will then be made from the north of the city for a scheduled arrival at Place Foch. An ideal race for the big rollers, which will still have to be wary of the wind that blows quite strong in Normandy. The general’s favorites will have to stay on their guard.

The profile

The eye of Thierry Gouvenou, race director

“An extremely flat time in the Caen plain. It is a loop that will promote very large rollers. We have completely clear straight lines, the distance is not negligible. It’s been a long time since we’ve offered it in the first week. It will be a big meeting between the favorites. We are on the forts on the dish. Ganna for the stage victory and undoubtedly Evenepoel for the general.
