Tour de France 2025: Lille Stage 1 Course & Profile

After Copenhagen, Bilbao and Florence, the Tour de France is back in France for its departure in 2025, with a 185 km Lille loop rich in contrasts. The route begins with flat sectors around the metropolis, before coming alive with three coasts: Notre – Dame -de -Lorette (1 km at 7.6%), Mont Cassel, (2.3 km at 3.5%, and Mont Noir (1.3 km at 6.4%).

Ascents that will offer runners the opportunity to take the first points for the polka dot jersey, animate the race and tire the peloton. The terrain, in its entirety, remains favorable to sprinters.

The profile

The eye of Thierry Gouvenou, race director

“The first yellow jersey should not escape sprinters. We have a few Flanders who can have ideas in the Monts des Flanders, Mont Noir or in Cassel but these are not difficulties that scare the sprinters. It is quite far from the arrival, I can hardly see them being trapped, especially since it is a unique opportunity to take yellow. It is an arrival on a large boulevard, all flat. Obviously, there will be a lot of nervousness but it is a habit in the sprints of the Tour de France. »»
