Hamburger SV wants to establish itself again in the Bundesliga. There should also be reinforcements in the storm. Is it coming from Leipzig?

Promotion hero Davie Selke apparently does not stay with the HSV. The signs are condensed that the striker does not sign a new contract with the “red pants”. The two parties have been negotiating for weeks, the club has not yet been able to report an agreement. On the contrary: According to agreed media reports, the Bundesliga promoter is now looking for an alternative-and, according to the “Hamburger Abendblatt”, has found what they are looking for in Leipzig.

Accordingly, a “hot lane” leads to Yussuf Poulsen. The Dane, which has been under contract in Leipzig for twelve years, is said to have already had initial discussions with the HSV officials. Both Poulsen and the Hamburgers would have signaled their interest. Poulsen’s contract in Leipzig is still running until 2026, but the 31-year-old hardly played a role anymore, was only used as a joker. He collected 362 minutes of play in the past Bundesliga season. Too little for the ambitious striker.

As a transfer fee, two to three million euros should be the performance of Leipzig. A sum that may still be too high for the HSV. In addition, the Saxons would save themselves the content of the popular striker. In view of the financial losses due to the mission of European business, not a bad thing.

For Poulsen, the HSV would be the second stop in Germany. For Leipzig, the 87-fold striker played a total of 425 competitive games, was involved in more than 150 goals. No other footballer has played more competitive games for the Saxons. Bundesliga record player is not Poulsen (233 games). Goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi has more missions (246).
