According to Dreyer, SV Mietingen goes into the tournament with a total of 16 players, only two of them are younger than 60 years. There are six players per team in the starting eleven. “The players come mainly from Mietingen, but also from Attenweiler, Schönebürg, Ochsenhausen and Baltringen,” said the SVM coach.
Last year, SV Mietingen started with three teams, which took second, four and seven places. “This time we want to move into the semi -finals with both teams and definitely not do worse than last year,” Dreyer explains the objective. He mentions the defending champion TSV Blaubeuren as a favorite.
We want to cut off as best as possible.
TSV-Coach Thomas Denninger
Another team from the Upper Swabian district will also be represented with the TSV Hochdorf. “Last year, SV Mietingen did a trial training in Hochdorf. So walking football got rolling in our club,” says TSV coach Thomas Denninger. “At the beginning we were seven people. In the meantime there are a group of up to ten people, all ex-footballers who meet every Thursday for training every two weeks.” The team consists of high -goals and three Fischbacher.
It was not trained more often in the run -up to the championship. “But more intensely in the units. We look forward to our premiere at the Württemberg championship,” says Denninger. “We want to do the best as possible, gain new experiences, and simply meet former companions from football.”
For the first time, referee in action
Heiner Dreyer is very happy about the start of TSV Hochdorf. “It’s nice that our sport also developed at TSV,” he says. The referees are also used for the first time on Saturday. “On Tuesday there was still a school training in Mietingen. There were extra two people from the WFV,” said Dreyer.

This is walking football
According to the Württemberg Football Association (WFV), walking football is a preventive and inclusive form of football. It is characteristic of this way of playing is that it can only be gone – running is not allowed. In addition, the ball must not be played over the hip height, and physical contact is only permitted to a limited extent. The aim is to avoid injuries and still enable a technically demanding, team -oriented game. According to the WFV, older people or people with health restrictions in particular benefit from this offer, which focuses on movement, community and joy of playing. But also beyond, walking football is becoming increasingly popular because it makes football accessible in a new, low -threshold form. According to WFV, interest in this preventive and inclusive sport is growing steadily in Württemberg-also thanks to committed clubs that create corresponding offers. (SZ)
