KWBL Basketball: 6-Month League Campaign Begins

Participate in 6 clubs… Championship in early December

The opening ceremony of the 2025 KWBL Wheelchair Basketball League (Wheelchair Basketball League), sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and hosted by the Korea Wheel Chair Basketball Federation (KWBL), will be held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium (Songpa -gu, Seoul) at 1 pm on the 4th. It will continue its six -month campaign until December 4th.

The 11th Wheelchair Basketball League, which has reached its 11th year, has been the oldest of the regular sports leagues in Korea. It has greatly contributed to the expansion of the disabled sports and improving the performance of the players.

In this league, six teams will participate in Goyang Holt, Daegu Metropolitan City Hall, Mugunghwa Electronics, Jeju Special Self -Governing Province, Chuncheon Tigers, and Coway Blue Wheels. In seven gymnasiums nationwide, they will win the final winners through 45 regular leagues (July 4 -October 26), playoffs (November 28-30), and championship matches (December 2-4).

The opening ceremony will be attended by about 200 people, including the Ministry of Culture, the Korean Sports Association, the Korean Basketball Association for the Disabled, and the six teams. After the opening ceremony, the opening match between Coway Blue Wheels, who won the championship match against the previous year, and Chuncheon Tigers, which were second in the regular league, will be held. In the opening game, more than 1,000 students from Ilsung Girls’ Middle and High School will participate in the cheering team to add heat, and various field events will be held in the middle of the game.

Anyone can see all the matches of the wheelchair basketball league for free, and the entire game, including the opening game, will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel ‘Korea Wheel Chair Basketball Federation TV’.
