In Frankfurt without a chance

Igor Matanovic could contest the new Bundesliga season at SC Freiburg. According to “Bild”, Eintracht Frankfurt is in negotiations with the sports club about a transfer of the striker trained at FC St. Pauli.

VfB Stuttgart, Borussia Mönchengladbach, FC Augsburg and Werder Bremen, as well as Dinamo Zagreb, were recently traded in the TM rumor mill. Whether one of these clubs or another was actually on it does not seem to be decisive. According to the sheet, a lot indicates a change to the Breisgau. Specific interests of the southern Germans have existed for a long time.
If not yet decided, the transfer is in the decisive phase. It is about a fixed change for a transfer fee of around 8 million euros. Eintracht also receives a participation in resale. Such an amount would ever be the highest of the SCF for a center forward. So far, the junior Adamu (6 million euros) is at the top. For the wing striker Cyriaque Iriaé, which can also be used in the center, was just paid 8.5 million euros.
Matanovic at Eintracht Frankfurt as early as 2024/25 behind
If everything else runs smoothly for the Frankfurters, the SGE can soon add international players Jonathan Burkardt to their striker that is already not poorly occupied. For Matanovic, it is no longer really relevant whether Hugo Ekitiké is leaving the club. With wintry access Elye Wahi and Michy Bathshuayi, two other storm colleagues were recently in front of the Croatian – then Burkardt. Already in the past season, Matanovic was only granted 300 Bundesliga and less than 300 European League minutes.
Eintracht had chosen an unusual model with FC St. Pauli 2021 for the way to Frankfurt. For only half a million euros, the SGE bought the native of Hamburg, but continued to play the talent of the Braun-Weißen for two years at the Millerntor. There, the five -time national player in the 2nd Bundesliga came less well than later with another loan to the Karlsruher SC. Three hits, as in three second division years for St. Pauli, Matanovic scored there in the first half of 2023/24.
At the end of the season, Matanovic not only had 14 KSC hits on the account, but also the confidence of the Frankfurters for a future at the SGE. The fact that it could now be in Freiburg instead of in Frankfurt for the striker, who was once started in the south of Hamburg at the Harburg gymnastics association with the kicking, can now be found in Freiburg. Routine Michael Gregoritsch (31) is to leave the club. In addition, the Freiburger Lucas Höler (30) and Adamu (24) have as a potential stem striker in the squad. Höler, although he played a convincing season, was involved in hardly more than 12 percent of all the team’s league with six goals. As well as Gregoritsch, Adamu even recorded two goals in the upper house.
I think an incredible amount of Matanovic, I really like the boy. At the moment he has not yet brought his PS on the lawn in the 1st league, but strikers of his type take longer and are actually only at the end of 20 at their high.
Precisely because I like him so, I would rather see him in Freiburg than in Bremen or Stuttgart. In Freiburg he has a quiet environment and certainly gets the necessary time to develop.
