President made comment during the launch ceremony of the Business Agriculture Plan 2025/2026 at the Planalto Palace in Brasilia
The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) joked on Tuesday (1st.Jul.2025) on the absence of Corinthians, his heart team, at the Club World Cup, which is being played in the United States.
The statement was given at the launch ceremony of the 2025/2026 Business Agriculture Plan at the Planalto Palace in Brasilia, after the president commented on the evidence of climate change that could be observed in the US Club World Cup matches.
“Anyone who did not believe in the climate issue must have accompanied the World Cup of the US Clubs. We saw, for the first time, a match being interrupted by excess heat. If someone had doubt that the world is changing … unfortunately did not have Corinthians, Santos, Sao Paulo … I talked to the president of FIFA and will have a world cup ‘forgot me’ and Corinthians will participate.”said Lula.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and ministers like Carlos Fávaro (PSD) (Agriculture), Fernando Haddad (Farm), Marina Silva (Environment), Waldez Goes (PDT), PAULO TEIXEIRA (PT) and Sidonius Palmeira (Secom).
The event served for the government to announce the R $ 516.2 billion in credit for costing, investment and commercialization of production for business agriculture. The amount represents a nominal increase of R $ 8 billion (1.5%) compared to the previous period. However, when adjusted by inflation, the amount means a 4% reduction compared to last year, according to BC (Central Bank) tools.
One of the main changes in the 2025/2026 Safra Plan is the requirement of climate -risk agricultural zoning for the granting of costing credit. This rule was previously applied only to operations of up to R $ 200,000 hired by family farmers in Proagro.
