Every day, “DL” highlights a personality whose birthday is and who takes stock of its activities, commitments or business. Today, “DL” wishes a happy birthday to Clément Hyvoz, president of the Dordogne Departmental Tennis Committee. This Sunday, July 6, is blowing its 36 candles.
What is the assessment of the past season for tennis in Dordogne?
It is excellent. We inaugurated the departmental center in November and it is really the first year when we were able to set up everything we had planned, with a lot of activities on weekends. On licenses, we are on an interesting figure with 6,780 licensees. The Dordogne has recorded very good results in young people and toddlers are extremely efficient.
What are the main development axes of the Committee for the coming months?
We will set up additional tournaments. We will welcome regional tournaments and federal tournaments on those under 10 and under 12. We are going to make a major CNGT tournament (National Tournament Circuit) for adult gentlemen. It’s just below the Challengers circuits, ATP.
How do you accompany clubs to promote the practice of tennis?
We rely a lot on clubs that have worked very well for several years. They are supported in their development projects, on infrastructure (short repairs, room constructions) – because the equipment is important and it makes you want to come and play. We also help clubs in their entertainment with in particular school tennis. The important thing is access to competition, since loyalty is done through competition.
What do you want you to offer you for your birthday?
Have a good holiday and reach the 7,000 licenses at the end of the season.
