A pure scorer to animate the Cholet game
After a first professional season at KK Podgorica in 2023-2024 (11.1 points in 23 minutes), Daylen Kountz really exploded in Hungary under the colors of Egis Kormend. With 21.6 points at 52.9% success in fire, including a remarkable 45.9% at 3-point, he dominated the championship offensively. In 37 games, he also compiled 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 34 minutes on average.
Cholet Basket therefore continues to draw on a pool that he knows well. This is not a first for the Mauges club, which had already bet on the Hungarian championship in 2021 with Darrin Govens. Before launching his professional career, Daylen Kountz distinguished himself in NCAA. When he was younger, he distinguished himself at the Lycée at Denver East where he led the 5A division from Colorado to scoring, with 23.2 points on average. With its ability to create your own shot, outdoor precision and offensive play volume, Daylen Kountz corresponds to the profile sought by Cholet to strengthen its rear line for its return to the Champions League (BCL). Its low ratio of assists (2.8 per game) suggests that it could evolve in a comb-guard role, capable of scoring at the exit of Dribble but also of evolving alongside a leader like TJ Campbell (1.77 m, 37 years).
