The Basketball Champions League is preparing for its tenth season, which will begin with the qualifying tournaments and the rating of the Regular Season scheduled for Wednesday.
Lausanne (Switzerland) – A total of 53 teams will carefully follow the draw of the X season of the Basketball Champions League, which will take place on Wednesday 2 July at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, in Switzerland.
Twenty -nine (29) of these teams are already qualified directly to the Regular Season (based on sports criteria), while three others (3) will access through the qualifying tournaments, in which 24 teams will compete to obtain the passage of the round.
The drawing ceremony, which will define the regular season groups and the scoreboards of the qualifying tournaments, will be broadcast live on the channel YouTube Official of the BCL.
Qualification tournaments
Twenty -four (24) teams will participate in three (3) qualifying tournaments. One will be reserved for the samples of nations not represented directly in the Regular Season (Champions Path), while the other two will include the remaining teams looking for access.
The three tournaments will take place at the end of September. The detailed calendar of the matches and the locations will be announced during July.

- Fascia 2: Bursaspor Basketbol (Tur), CSM CSU Oradea (Rou), Fribourg Olympic Basket (sui), Karhu Basket Kauhajoki (FIN)
- Fascia 3: Elan chalon (wife), lowen brownwarrow (ger), Uniclub Bet Juvenus utena (LTU), Windrose Giants Atewerp (ber)
- Fascia 4: FC Porto (Poro), Pelister Bitola (MKD), PGE START LUBLIN (POL), SC DERBY (me)
All tournaments will take place with direct elimination matches, starting from the quarterfinals. The teams of band 1 will face those of the 4 band, while those of the 2 band will challenge the teams of band 3.
The three winners of the tournaments will access the Regular Season.
Regular Season
The Regular Season will be made up of eight groups of four teams each.
For the purposes of the draw, the twenty -nine (29) teams qualified directly and the three (3) winners of the qualifying tournaments will be divided into four bands of eight teams.
The bands are based on the ranking of clubs and the ranking of the BCL countries.

Play-In e Round of 16
There will be no further draw for the play-in and for the Round of 16.
The second and third classified teams of adjacent groups will face each other in a play-in series at the best of the three games in the following couplings:
- A2 vs B3, B2 vs A3
- C2 vs D3, D2 vs C3
- E2 vs F3, F2 vs E3
- G2 vs H3, H2 vs G3
The winners will access the default groups of the Round of 16:
- Group I: A1, E1, C2/D3, G2/H3
- J Group: B1, F1, D2/C3, H2/G3
- Group K: C1, G1, B2/A3, E2/F3
- LG L: D1, H1, A2/B3, F2/E3
Restrictions of draw
In the rating of the Regular Season, the “National Protection” will be applied: the teams of the same country will not be able to end up in the same group.
The Regular Season 2024-25 will start 7 October 2025.
