The Senegalese international Babacar Sané continues his progression to the summits of world basketball. At 21, the winger trained at the NBA Academy was selected to participate in the NBA Summer League 2025 under the colors of Minnesota Timberwolves, according to information relayed by Jolofsport. This prestigious summer competition will take place from July 10 to 20 in Las Vegas.
Sané is not a stranger in the world of the Minneapolis franchise. He recently completed the 2024-2025 season with Iowa Wolves, the G-League affiliate team of Timberwolves, thus confirming its progressive integration into the NBA ecosystem.
Product of the Elevate Bal program, Babacar Sané has forged a solid reputation on the African continent. He shone this year with the US Monastir in season 5 of Basketball Africa League (BAL), recording an average of 12.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per match despite the elimination of the Tunisian club in the quarterfinals. He had already shown in this competition in 2022 with the Dakar University Club (DUC).
Vice-champion of Africa U18 In 2018, Sané joined the national team A in Senegal in 2022. He has since participated in several qualification campaigns for Afrobasket and the FIBA World Cup. Currently preselected for the next continental deadlines, he will join the Lions of Senegal after the Summer League.
