After his contract with Meister Sturm Graz expired in the summer, defensive player Gregory Wüthrich returns to his Swiss homeland.

The 30-year-old central defender changes free of charge to Young Boys Bern. At YB, Wüthrich signed a three -year contract until summer 2028.

Wüthrich played at Sturm for five years. During this time, the Confederation was twice mastered with the “Blackies” (2024 and 2025) and twice cup winners (2023 and 2024).

He played 178 competitive games (11 goals, 7 assists) and was elected three times in the team of the Admiral Bundesliga. Wüthrich has been a Swiss international since last year after being used by coach Murat Yakin in two games.

Wüthrich played with the YB juniors

As a YB junior, the 1.92 meter tall central defender made the leap into the first team in summer 2014. He then played 74 games in the YB fan team (2 goals, 2 assists) and finished three times with his main club (2018, 2019, 2020).

At the beginning of 2015 he was loaned to Grasshopper Club Zurich for half a year. Between September 2019 and August 2020, he played for Perth Glory in Australia before the switch to Sturm Graz took place.
