Wetterau Cup: Silver Medal Success

(PM). The TG Friedberg welcomed 160 players from 40 badminton clubs to the Wetterau Cup 2025. In 13 competitions, hobby, leisure and club players fought for the trophies for two days.

Luisa Faust and Fabian Blum from TuSpo Bad Salzschlirf prevailed in the mixed hobby class. Karpuz and Willi Weden triumphed from VfL Altenstadt/SC Rot-Weiß Altenstadt at the men’s hobby. Stefanie Nolte and Simon Paul Weiß from TV 1860 Hofheim secured the title in the Mixed Basic Class. In the men’s singles Basic Class, which was played with a consolation round and main round, Devasish Kar (SG Deutsche Bank) won. The consolation round won Ngoc Luan Hoang (TG Friedberg).

Natascha Bader/Chiara temple from TV Bensheim prevailed in the women’s doubles Classic Class, while men Pratap Patil/Kai Luca Wang (BV Friedrichsdorf/SV Fun-Ball Dortelweil) dominated. Toby Kurniawan (BC Viernheim) won in the men’s singles Classic.

In the mixed classic class, the title went to Simone Fuhrmann and Thorsten Hepp (SG Hemsbach/1st Frankfurter BC). The open class was won by Nadine Moussa and Christian Therre (1st BV Maintal).

In terms of sport, host TG Friedberg was very impressive: Sandra Wendel and Thorsten Fischer reached second place in the mixed classic class, Thomas Eifler secured second place in the men’s singles Classic and Marcus Thalheim. In addition, Tom Stufflebeam-Vogt and Marcus Thalheim came in fourth place in the men’s doubles Classic.

If you add up the podium places across all competitions, host TG Friedberg, SG Deutsche Bank and the 1st Frankfurter BC share the award as the most successful club in the tournament 2025.
