West Ham: Harvey Elliott Transfer Interest Confirmed

West Ham United want to reinforce an ageing, underperforming roster that finished 14th in the Premier League and are interested in Liverpool ace Harvey Elliott.

According to the MirrorFulham, Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham and RB Leipzig registered their interest before the tournament kicked off.’

The tournament in question is the Under-21 European Championship, where Elliott has been playing a starring role for England.

Elliott scored twice against the Netherlands to spearhead the Young Lions to the final before netting the opener on the grand stage against Germany.

His semi-final outing earned him praise from Lee Carsley, who said (via the BBC), “Harvey has been outstanding. He is one of many players who have stood up.”

The Hammers could use a creative attacker like Elliott, with the future of Lucas Paqueta at the London Stadium hanging in the air.

The Brazilian is awaiting a decision on his betting case.

West Ham want to try and ship him off, but not many sides will be willing to take the punt on a player with such a scandal on his sheet.

The Irons are also looking to sell Mohammed Kudus this summer after he underperformed this season, with several Premier League sides sniffing around him.

If Paqueta or Kudus leave, Elliott can immediately slot in on the right side of the attack or in the attacking midfield position.

West Ham could be his next stomping ground.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough last term, bagging four goals and 14 assists in 53 appearances under Jurgen Klopp, but does not enjoy the same trust from Slot.

West Ham need to be decisive and swoop for Elliott. He fills the holes in the squad and comes eager to prove himself.

He could play a massive role in a potential resurgence under Hammers boss Graham Potter.
