Wembanyama & France Basketball: Risks & EuroBasket Concerns

It was announced, feared, it’s now official! Unsurprisingly, and as we revealed on June 25, Victor Wembanyama will not compete in the European Championship with the French basketball team at the end of the summer (from August 27 to September 14). Confirmation fell this Friday morning during a press conference organized at the headquarters of the French basketball federation (13th arrondissement of Paris).

Distant to NBA prosecution and forced rest since the discovery of a venous thrombosis on the right shoulder in February, the native of Chesnay does not appear in the list of 18 players called by coach Frédéric Faux, to prepare the tournament. A list that will be reduced to 12 names just before the euro.
