This week I dumped into the world of VR. I took my PS VR2 out of the closet again, dusted and connected. The reason? Maestro, a music rhythm game that has now appeared on the PS5 for the first time. Ritmegames are perhaps the most common type of games for VR, with titles such as Pistol Whip and Synth Riders. In Maestro you take over the conductor stick and lead a full orchestra bin through a range of music pieces, ranging from classical pieces to The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.
I think Maestro is fairly brilliant. The hand tracking is excellent, and the feeling of literally controling your entire orchestra is great. The game is really a reason to bring out your VR headset again.

Tomorrow it is finally time: Dutch Altered Championship II. I finally made the decision for a deck, and I have been practicing to do a little okay. Hopefully not too many people will play generous!

That’s how I started with The Alters this week and I have to say: I’m hooked! Surviving on an alien planet by making cloning of yourself is surprisingly fun and fans of Fallout Shelter immediately feel at home with this game. Go play that!
In addition, I picked Rematch this week, that football game of the Sifu developer. A nice alternative on Rocket League I have to say, especially with a group of friends. The matchmaking is sometimes a bit shaky, but I feel that this game is going to do quite nicely. There is an addictive Arcadey core in Rematch and it really ensures that ‘another game’ feeling.
