Our village sports care project
The National Sports Promotion Corporation (Chairman Ha Hyung -ju, Chairman) has been operating the ‘Uri Village Sports Care Project’ to spread the welfare of the community. It is a field -oriented integrated sports welfare service that departs from Paju, the northernmost part of Gyeonggi, to Jangheung, Jeonnam, where you can directly visit the town area with sports experts.
‘Woori Village Sports Care Project’ is a representative regional linkage project of the Sports Corporation, which provides various services such as sports class, health counseling, and supplies support for local youth and elderly people with poor sports infrastructure. It is characterized by integrating physical education classes with sports stars, and health and health measurement, medical counseling, and health supplies support for seniors.
On June 20, Samsung Elementary School, Tanhyeon -myeon, Paju -si, Gyeonggi -do, held a table tennis class as a lecturer for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics Table Tennis Bronze Medalist. In the class, children also transferred the basics and practical skills of table tennis to children, while also supporting the table tennis supplies necessary for education.
On the same afternoon, the Paju Senior Welfare Center was held for 50 senior citizens, and health consultation with health care, which is part of the ‘National Health 100’ program, and orthopedic specialists. In particular, customized advice was provided to prevent musculoskeletal diseases.
From June 23rd, the Badminton class was held at Daedeok Elementary School in Jangheung -gun, Jeonnam. Health care services were also provided for the elderly for the elderly of the Jangheung Senior Citizens’ Welfare Center, and health supplies were also delivered to support healthy daily life.
An official of the Sports Corporation said, “The lower the sports accessibility, the higher the need and satisfaction of public sports services.” “I hope this project will become a local customized welfare model that provides a positive experience for sports for children and a practical health care opportunity for seniors.”
Meanwhile, the Sports Corporation expanded the project, which was piloted in three areas last year, to eight nationwide towns. Starting in September, the company will expand and operate sequential operations to Gangwon, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.
