Transfer Fees: Lower Costs Explained

The regional newspaper came on Friday evening with the news that PSV and Leverkusen are close to an agreement on the transfer for Tillman. The transfer amount that is being discussed is around forty million euros or higher. However, that sum can possibly be lower. Tillman has a clause in his commitment, which means he can go to Bayern Munich for 35 million euros. PSV thinks that that option does not apply to Leverkusen, but that is not entirely certain.

Tillman’s management believes that Leverkusen can use that clause and it is also unclear for PSV itself whether the position of forty million euros can be kept. The Eindhoven team had to agree with this clause with the final purchase of Tillman last summer, because otherwise the final transfer became difficult. PSV paid fourteen million euros for the arrival of the American.

For the time being it seems that PSV will still receive more than 35 million euros from Leverkusen for Tillman. At the moment the last folds are being smoothed and the deal seems to be settled after the weekend. Tillman then signs a five -year contract in Leverkusen.
