Toronto Priest: 6-Year Contract Agreed

According to Elliott Friedman of Sportsnet, Toronto Maple Leafs and striker Matthew Knies signed a new six -year contract with an average annual salary of $ 7.75 million.

The twenty -two -year -old American with Slovak roots has a successful year, in which he scored 29 goals, 29 assists in 78 regular season matches and handed out up to 182 points. In the playoffs he added another five goals and two assists in 13 duels.

Priest was just one of three players in the whole NHL who scored at least 29 goals last season and also gave at least 180 hits – he ranked on the side of the stars like Brady Tkachuk or Tom Wilson.

The new contract makes him the third best paid player Toronto after Auston Matthews and William Nylander, just ahead of Morgan Rielly. Of all Toronto players, only Nylander has a longer contract.

The Priesta Maple Leafs chose in the second round of the draft in 2021. In his newcomer season 2023/24 scored 15 goals and 20 assists in 80 matches.
