Status: 26.06.2025 11:13 a.m.

A sports hall was modernized in Pablo-Picasso-Straße in Toitenwinkel. Next is the renovation of the hall next to it.

A renovated sports hall was ceremoniously inaugurated in the Rostock district of Toitenwinkel. The sports facility in Pablo-Picasso-Straße from the 1980s now has modern sports equipment, underfloor heating, an acoustic blanket and a photovoltaic system. According to Mayor Eva-Maria Kröger (left), the hall is a prime example of sustainable and contemporary sports facilities. The renovation cost 4.9 million euros. Of these, 1.34 million euros come from the state’s urban development funding. In addition to the Baltic School, the coastal school and the primary school “An der Weiden”, the hall is also used by clubs. These offer basketball, martial arts, volleyball, badminton and other sports.

Further sports hall is to be renovated right next to it

Right next to the renovated hall, the city now wants to modernize another sports facility. It is already the tenth and for the time being last renovation of the hall within the multi -year “sports facilities renovation program northeast” in Toitenwinkel and Dierkow. Construction work begins in July. A new functional building is to be grown next to the hall. It should be finished in the spring of 2027.
