Paňková Wins: Slovakia’s First Prague Troy Triumph

Slovak representative in water slalom Zuzana Paňková won 103.29 seconds in the C1 discipline final at the World Cup event in Prague.

For the 20-year-old Slovakia it was the premiere triumph in the World Cup. For Slovakia it is the second triumph at the SP event in Prague, on Friday Jakub Grigar won in a short slalom in the K1 discipline. Soňa Stanovská ended up in the tenth position on Saturday’s final (112.59 s).

Paňková went out of Sloveniek to the final track first and from the beginning went in a good pace, moreover without touching on the gates. At each in the meantime she had the upper hand over the Germans Herzogová and in the time of 103.29 seconds after the finish she settled in the continuous first place, where she finally stayed to the very end.

“I tried to go fast and I’m just happy. I was honest, hoping to stay first, but you never know. Thank you to the fans, my family and everyone,” the TV conversation winner said.

Stanovska did not work out the final ride according to the ideas, already in the opening part of the track lost Rytmus and gradually increased her time loss to the representative colleague. She came to the finish with almost 10-second deficit and in the sixth position. In the finals, only Emanula Luknárová was missing from Sloveniek, who ranked in the qualifying in 15 positions.
