With the firm purpose of consolidating the bases of the National Sports Movement for the 2028 Olympic Cycle, the Minister of Popular Power for Sports and the President of the National Institute of Sports (IND) Franklin Cardillo, granted administrative measures and the recognition of exceptional operation to various Venezuelan sports federations.

During the monthly meeting between the IND, Mindort and the Sports Federations, the minister stressed that this initiative seeks to provide institutional stability so that each federation focuses its efforts on the management and development of their respective disciplines. “If the election process has the approval of all associations, athletes, coaches and unions will have the support of the Ministry, the Venezuelan Olympic Committee and international recognition,” said Cardillo.

The act is part of the actions of the Los Angeles 2028 plan, the National Sports Plan and the great seven transformations (7T), which promote the resurgence of Venezuelan sport.

Among the federations that received their certificate are judo, sports climb, softball, dominoes, baseball, Basque ball, gymnastics, billiards, archery, bowling, sports for people with cerebral palsy, modern pentathlon, bádminton and kickboxing.

“Since 2017, Venezuelan Judo has reached important milestones. Today, at the beginning of my third period, I reaffirm our commitment to the growth of sport in unity,” said the president of the Venezuelan Judo Federation, Katiuska Santaella,

For his part, the president of the Venezuelan Federation of Kickboxing, Darío Alvarado, thanked the recognition: “This step allows us to continue consolidating the development of our discipline, backed by international achievements and a committed team.”
