Lionel Messi no power to help Inter Miami to match Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16 Club World Cup 2025. Les Parisiens is too tough.
Inter Miami lost 0-4 in a duel that took place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday (29/6) night WIB. All PSG goals were scored in the first round through Joao Neves in the 69 and 39 minutes, then Own Goal Tomas Aviles (44 ‘) and finally Achraf Hakimi ahead of halftime.
Throughout the game, Inter Miami did lose class. They were only able to open shots in the second half. In total there were eight experiments released, three leading to the goal. But everything was raw in the hands of PSG giant goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma.

With the quality of the fairly lame team, Messi was unable to carry Inter Miami alone. Even though he had received a 6.8 rating from Whoscored, the highest among his team mates. It proves the hard work he tried to present in the field.
Two of the three shots against Inter Miami came from him. Then he also released 89 percent accurate passing, two into two key passes. Not to forget, he managed to twice passing the opponent with his dribble action.
It’s just that, all that wasn’t enough. PSG is too tough to be ‘opposed alone’. They can score fast goals to undermine Inter Miami’s mentality, such as when bulldozing Inter Milan in the Champions League final. And that’s what happened.
A total of 19 shots were released by PSG throughout the game, or doubled Inter Miami. Of that number, nine of them are right on target, or three times more.
Messi is the player with the title of the most Ballon d’Or in the world, namely eight trophies. But to match PSG, he needs the help of a series of players with equivalent quality as well as in Barcelona or the Argentine national team. And that’s what he didn’t have in Atlanta last night.
“Yes, the match went according to the allegations. They were a big team, obviously they were the defending champions of the Champions League. This is very good. That is the match we expect, we try to do our best and we leave a good impression at the Club World Cup level,” Messi explained after the match, quoted by ESPN.
