Announcement of new inclusive sports technification programs in Toledo
The general director of Youth and Sports, Carlos Yuste, has revealed the launch of new sports technification programs that will begin in September of the 2025/26 season. This innovative initiative will be carried out at the Center for Inclusive Sports Technification of Castilla-La Mancha, located in Toledo, and is the first in its kind in Spain with an inclusive approach.
The programs will begin with the Bádminton and the Parabádminton, and will have the collaboration of the Territorial Federation, the Superior Sports Council and the Spanish Paralympic Committee. According to Yuste, the main objective is to create an inclusive high performance environment, facilitating the full development of athletes and preparing them for future Olympic and Paralympic cycles.
The announcement was made during the closure of the V Handball Campus ‘Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas’, at the ‘Javier Lozano’ pavilion in Toledo. During his speech, Yuste stressed the importance of this type of initiatives for the sports and personal development of young people. The campus, organized by the Toledo Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas, has received a significant institutional support and has been established as a reference in the region. Since its creation, the Communities Board has supported the project to promote base sport and highlight inspiring figures such as Gonzalo.
In this fifth edition, almost a hundred young people participated, of which approximately 45% came from different towns in Castilla-La Mancha. In addition, 40 young beneficiaries enjoyed a scholarship with a 30% discount, the result of collaboration between the Board of Communities and the Organization of the Campus, thus guaranteeing access to quality sports experiences for all.
Campus activities included technical training, dynamics of coexistence and motivational talks by national and international athletes and technicians.
Carlos Yuste also highlighted the success of the program ‘We are Sports 3-18’, which in the last year involved about 120,000 participants in various sports modalities in Castilla-La Mancha, covering phases of initiation, competition and promotion.
