I will always wish for football to connect people to combine

The first season in the 4th Football League has the Spartak Police over Metují slowly behind and that it has happened a lot in the past year. After the euphoric autumn came the fall into the bottom of the table, the exchange of coaches, rescue in the spring part and perhaps even averting the descent fighting. Awarding the status of the Regional Youth Center, the start of the construction of the second playground, the Athlete of the Year award for the A-team. “You are down once, once upstairs. Now we are in the period when we have to enjoy it, to be grateful for humility to receive these awards. To be successful, the need for people, their efforts and efforts to do and sacrifice,” says Karel Klimeš, chairman of Spartak.

How long have you been waiting for a season like the one that started last year?

Eight years ago I wouldn’t have thought where we were going. We did not succeed in sports, Covid came into it, and when we are at the category of men, even before Covid we managed to lead the competition, but the pandemic ruined it all. For a year and a half we were isolated from everything, two seasons were plons. Encouraging was that after Covido the coach in the older pupils at the first training gathered 30 children, which was great. But no one knew how to continue. Then it all started and we are where we are…

At the beginning of the spring part, however, Spartak was the last in the table. Are you afraid you would fall back to the regional championship?

I personally were not much for the division, I publicly declared it after the victory in the regional championship. The reasons were clear: one playground, then finance. Every reasonable person must understand that the division can no longer play local, it simply does not work, with the shifting of performance also shifting costs. But I honored the majority that the committee would try to address the main sponsor and it worked. Now in the week we had negotiations whether we would continue the competition and everything seems to be successful. Of course, I have to mention one name, and this is our main sponsor Petr Hauk, without whom it would not be absolutely.

When we return to the matches of the A …

Autumn began impressive, the quality of the competition showed. It is a pity that in the autumn we tied in some matches we were supposed to win. There should have been much more points.

It is also because the MOL Cup matches were played in parallel, when the first league Mladá Boleslav came to the shelf…

In the MOL Cup we managed to advance to the 3rd round. At the same time, the width of the cadre was not so great and everything is related to everything. It was difficult for the boys.

So that’s something you’ve worked on?

Certainly yeah. After the autumn part of the coaches, it was hectic, for me it was an unpleasant matter. Personally, I did not want to recall coach Vach, but again, as I honor the majority, so the committee just decided. The new coach, who has experience with the first league, also made a fitness coach. The first spring matches were embarrassed. Personally, after two rounds, I had a speech to the players…

What did you tell them?

I would keep it to myself, that’s my recipe.

Did it work?

I guess it worked. After all, they are the boys who have gone through something. They are experienced, they were bothered by them. In addition, when the regional championship was successful, local viewers created a great backdrop… In the autumn and even now in the spring, the backdrop is no longer as it was…

What is it?

It can be a lot of aspects. For example, they are not home players, that they are failing, admission and weather can play a role. Because the paradox is that we had no problem in the spring that the terrain would be ineligible, it was quite good. But the winters … Benešov was played here almost in frost.

So would you invite fans to come to support Spartak properly?

Anyone who likes Spartak will find their way here. That’s up to everyone. I personally and we all do everything here to make the club successful. We have improved Facebook pages, we could promote even more club. Now we work on it during the summer.

However, the threat of descent is, if I count well, averted…

As they say, hares are counted after the hunt, there are three more games left by the end of the season. On Friday we play on Slavia Hradec and if we succeeded in winning, we are probably saved. But as I say, it is necessary to accept things with humility and without machating how they are and play until the last moment, until the last round. And look at yourself first and then the others.

If you manage to stay in the division, do you need to make any changes before the next season?

We have already said about some of the changes we have to make, but I don’t want to overtake. I would not comment on organizational and gaming things yet.

What does the construction of a Sportpark on Ostašská mean for Spartak?

One fundamental thing, it will be an adequate spare playing area throughout the season. The most important thing for us is spring and autumn, November dates are borderline in our conditions.

How do you mean?

In the Hradec region, the climate is a bit different. In Hradec there is a grass of us. We are under the mountains and the environment is specific here. So we will have a spare playing area that will be used not only by Spartak, but also by other sports clubs. Oval will be available to skiers, the SportPark will also serve the general public and children. There can be a friendly match, concentration. I already have signals that some neighboring units are considering playing friendly matches here.

Last year you were also assigned the status of the regional youth center. What does this mean in practice?

This is announced by the Football Association of the Hradec Králové Region and the number of youth clubs plays the biggest role. We have two junior teams, older pupils, younger pupils in regional competitions. This year, this status was announced again, so we will see if it will turn out again. I do not want to say the amount, but for the subsidy we bought sports tools and youth equipment.

What does the Athlete of the Year award in the Náchod region, which currently received and the Spartak team in the team category. Did it please you?

It’s another award for our club. We must appreciate and take it with humility, because we all know that life is such a large sinusoid. Once you are down, once up. Now we are in the period when we have to enjoy it, to be grateful for humility to receive these awards. In order to be successful, the need for people, their efforts and efforts to do and sacrifice. In 2014 we were quite down…

What has changed? What is the success of recent years?

Every season had its own people, coaches, sports manager, without it it would not work. Just packed people who make football with football. I try to do that and I’m really a fanatic, Spartak is everything for me. I walk around the shelf and everyone connects me with football. I guess I have a gift to attract people. To be proud to be from the shelf to be part of the club to love the black and white sign. Sometimes it works, sometimes it is not how it is in life. There are worries, there are problems. We can argue, but one thing is essential: I will always wish that football do not divide people, but to connect them.
