The Dushanbe Grand Chelem started with an exciting judo action, packaged stands and historical moments. Madina Qurbonzoda, only 17, claimed bronze for Tajikistan, while stars like Buchard and Aghayev took gold. Local passion proves that judo really reigns supreme in Tajikistan.
Welcome to Tajikistan and Dushanbe Grand Slam, one of the most dynamic events of the world judo tour. The arena was really packed with chevrons, requiring an outdoor screen and an additional space for the thousands of premises loving judo, showing again how judo is really the number 1 sport in Tajikistan.
At -48 kg, Anudari Jamsran took Wenna Zhuang. Zhuang led the competition with a Yuko, but with less than a minute, Jamsran managed to mark Ippon and claim his first gold medal on the world judo tour.

At -60 kg Balabay Aghayev surmounts the favorite house Mehrzod Sufiev after organizing a fantastic performance. Marking Waza-Ari, he passed through an arm lock, forcing Sufiev to submit and mark Ippon.
Aghayev was delighted to add another gold medal to his collection!
He received his medal by the president of the Tadjikistan youth and sports committee, Mr. Zulfikor Gulahmadzoda.
At -52 kg, world medalist and Olympic Amandine Buchard Face Mukhayyo Akhmatova. Buchard was dominant all day long and continued in the final, after having expertly taken her opponent on the ground, she wasted no time getting a Shime-Waza.
By applying regular pressure, she forced submission and won a categorical victory over Ippon.
She received her medal by the 1st deputy for Tajikistan Youth & Sports Committee. Chair Ms. Shabnam Rahimzoda.
At -66 kg, with Nurali Emomali against the Obid Dzhebov it was a Tajik affair. A huge ippon has put the crowd at their feet, securing Emomali as the number 1 in this category at the national level.
The medals were awarded by the president of the Tadjikistan Judo Federation, Mr. ISMOIL Mahmadzoir.
At -57 kg, Sarah Leonie Cysique against Natalia Elkina. A restraint gave him the victory and his second Grand Slam gold medal!
She received the gold medal by chief sports director of the IJF, Mr. Vladimir Barta.
Local judoka illuminated the arena nothing more than Madina Qurbonzoda, 17 years old who took a historic bronze!
