The Bádminton University European Championship has started this Monday at the King Felipe VI pavilion in Boadilla del Monte with the dispute of 15 matches corresponding to the group stage of the team competition. The tournament, which brings together more than 150 students from 19 European universities, lived a start with a lot of color in a high level installation and with a high competitive level. Throughout three rounds – at 9:00 a.m., 13: 00h and 5:00 p.m.
Several teams have signed an unbeatable debut full of victories and very forceful results. This is the case of Gdansk University of Technology in Group D, which won its two 5-0 clashes against Eötvös Lorend and the University of Zagreb, adding 4 points and the clear leadership of the group. Also Vytaauts Magnus University in Group A has dominated with two 5-0 victories, which places him with 4 points, matched with the UMH-Miguel Hernández University of Elche, which also added two wins (3-2 against UCL and 5-0 against Bergen).

In Group B, University of Nottingham sends 4 points and a balance of 9 games won by only one lost. At C, University of Strasbourg also showed authority by winning its two duels of the day, while Bursa Uludag University remains with options after a 3-2 worker against PECS. Finally, in Group E, Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding debuted with a 5-0 solid against Groningen and leads with 2 points, matched with the German Sport University Cologne, which also won 4-1 at its premiere.

Second day: closure of groups and quarterfinals
This Tuesday the second day of the championship will be played, with two decisive rounds at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in which the classified for the quarterfinals will be defined. The latter will be played in the afternoon, starting at 4:00 p.m., with crosses still to be determined based on the final classification of each group.
Among the most outstanding duels on Tuesday morning are the confrontation between UMH Elche and Vytaauts Magnus, who will decide the leadership of Group A, and the direct duel between Admiral Makarov and German Sport University Cologne for the first position of the E. Group E. The meetings that will close the phase in groups B, C and D, with several tickets at stake in play.
The team competition will last until Wednesday, when the semifinals and the grand final are played. From Thursday and until Saturday it will be the turn of the individual competition, which will bring together the best players in the tournament already representing their universities in a personal capacity.
